The first series pitted the Sand Gnats and Skeeters against each other in a heated 3 game set. The Skeeters squeaked by the Gnats, winning game 3 by just a run.
Following their opening series losses, the Lake Monsters and Sand Gnats battled in a 1 game elimination match that the Sand Gnats were able to escape from. After the Otters upset the Skeeters in the best of 3 semi finals, the Sand Gnats were set up to battle the Skeeters one last time to see who advanced to the championship. The Skeeters barely avoided elimation - beating the Sand Gnats by just a run.
The championship series started with an overpowering performance by Austin Church and the Skeeters - who looked like they were going to dominate the series. However, the Otters were able to steal game 2, and Christian Abner delivered the only run in game 3 - a solo bomb to left field to walk off and win the championship for the Otters.
Slater Burge delivered the best overall performance on the day, hitting 11 homers in 9 games and taking home the playoff MVP award.
After the season, some of ISWB's best players travelled to New Carlisle, IN for the New Carlisle City Championship. The ISWB team had a great first day of pool play - winning 3 of 4 games with a +51 run differential. Their 3-1 record earned the ISWB Moonshots a first round BYE for tournament Sunday, but they couldn't overcome the wind blowing in. Unfortunately, ISWB had 10 HRs knocked down by the wind, ending their City Championship hopes. ISWB produced great results in its first tournament appearance. "We're looking to make deeper runs in the tourney as we gain valuable experience," says Otters' captain Sawyer Mitchell.
